What is a macro? A macro in Word 2007 is the result of Word recording your steps or actions and saving it to later execute with shortcut keys, or with a simple click of a button. So if you have the same, boring, over and over again steps to perform every time you open a Word document, say creating a salutation in a letter or formatting some text with the same font, font color and size then the macro is a great solution. To create, edit and view your macros you'll first have to bring up the Developer Tab on the Ribbon. By default the Developer Tab is missing, but after you add it you'll click on it and in Code group click Record Macro. Another way to record is found on the Word window frame.
