Linking text boxes or pull quote text boxes in Word 2007 is often done when only so much text can be fitted into one text box on a page, and then the remaining text is spilled over or "linked" into another box on another page of the document. To link your text from one text box to another, first click in the first text box and the extra contextual "Text Box Tools" Format Tab will appear on the Ribbon. On that Tab in the Text group click the Create Link button, then go to the second Text box in your document. Your mouse will look like a bucket, and you'll want to scroll to avoid clicking with your bucket active until you get to your second text box.
