Where's the toolbar to insert footnotes or endnotes in Word 2007? It's not called a toolbar anymore but a Ribbon, with several Tabs along the top. To insert and endnote or footnote click on the Reference Tab on the Ribbon, and go to the Footnote group and click its group launcher button - that little tiny arrow on the bottom-right corner of the Footnotes group. Once clicked it'll open up the Footnotes and Endnotes dialogue box for you to customize the format of your notes. In summary a footnote is a note inserted at the bottom of the page, referencing a phrase on the page, and an endnote inserts the reference to that note at the end of the document.
