How do you insert captions or bylines below photos, charts or tables in Word 2007? First be sure to click below the picture and then on the Ribbon click the References Tab, to Captions group and click the Insert Caption button and here you'll type in your caption. You'll also note in this screen you can change the Label from a Figure to a Table caption. Of course you could simple type in some text below your photos, but the benefit for going through Word's Captions are: you can create a Table of Figures automatically that references all captions in your document, and automatically update the numbered captions and update automatically cross-references.
