How do I change my Screen Saver setting in Windows Vista? A Screen Saver was original set on computers to prevent a constant image on your computer, when not in use, from burning into your screen. Right now the Screen Saver is not used as much when it comes to newer LCD monitors, but mostly used to lock a user's computer when the user is away from there computer for say more than 15 or 30 minutes. You can set this time also. To do so simply right click a blank area on your Desktop to Personalize, and then click on the Screen Saver link. Here you can again change the time, and choose the Screen Saver images including setting your own images.
