WordPad is a default word processing program for Windows Vista users. WordPad isn't as powerful, or has the powerful features as Microsoft's Word, but it is typically free and comes with your Windows Vista Operating System. To open up WordPad you'll first click on your Windows Vista Start button and in the bottom instant search box type in WordPad. Then in the start menu above click on WordPad. Once the program opens you can do some of the basics like type in your text, format your text like adding bold, and color to the text. Keep in mind that it's a good start, but if you want a more powerful Word processing program you'll want to think about purchasing Word.
