What is Solver and how do I use it in Excel 2007? Solver is a feature you can use if you know the answer you want, but not the inputs. In other words, unlike Goal Seek with one variable to solve a formula, Solver can help when you have more than one variable input. Say you want a loan and can only afford a monthly payment of $500.00. With the help of Solver you can set a few variables like the range of the interest rate: 8% to say 12% in addition to those constraints you also want to set the term of the loan for 44 months. When all is said and done what you'll come out with is the total principle amount of the loan you can fit within you desired goal!
