What is the Randomize or Random Sampling feature in Excel 2007? The Randomize feature uses the Data Analysis Add-in to capture a random sample (numeric data only) from your database. Say you want to pull a random sampling of employees to select who you'll send to the conference in Hawaii. You can't use Randomize with text data; however, you can use that feature on their employee ID if you have them. In conjunction with the Randomize feature we also show you how to use it with the VLOOKUP feature to pull back say the top 5 people from a random sampling. The sample may produce duplicates as this feature samples the same data, and not tracking previous runs!
