What is a Macro and how does it work in Excel 2007? A macro is basically a recorder, yes it records all the steps or actions you perform in Excel. Once these actions are recorded you can play them back, to repeat all the actions in a simple click or from an assigned shortcut key. For example, lets say for every document you create you want your name and page numbers included in the footer. Simply record all these steps through the macro, and then next time you open up your Excel spreadsheet you can have all the steps played and insert your name and page numbers for you! Macros can not only save time on repetitive steps, but also can streamline your work flow!
