The MAX and MIN functions are used to find the highest or lowest numbers in a given range of numbers. For example, the numbers 5, 10, 25. The lowest or MIN for minimum would be the number 5, and of course the highest number or MAX is 25. In Excel 2007 you can click in a cell to type in one of these formulas, selecting of course the cells you'd like to include, to get your results. However, there's also a an alternative that maybe faster than typing in the formula and that's using the Auto feature, or clicking the AutoSum button to MIN or MAX and using your mouse to select the range of cells with their numbers you want to find the highest or lowest value.
