Paragraph Indents

There are actually four types of paragraph indents in Word 2007. First of all to work with your indents you'll want to be in either: Print Layout or Draft views (preferably Print Layout). To get there click on View Tab, in Document Views group. Then on View Tab in Show/Hide group be sure to check the Ruler box. Now look up on the Horizontal ruler at the top of your page and notice on the left of the ruler three small shapes: triangle pointing down (First Line Indent), triangle pointing up (Hanging Indent) and rectangle (Left Indent). Using your mouse you can click and drag the top triangle, or First Line Indent to the right and the paragraph's first line will indent as far as you dragged it!

Now the triangle pointing up, or Hanging Indent when clicked and dragged in to the center of the document will indent or drag in all but the first line in a paragraph, the first line "hangs" out. The tricky part is getting your tiny mouse to be able to click exactly on the tine Hanging Indent triangle, and may take you a few tries, or you can use the shortcut Ctrl+T. If you want to see it in action including more about the third Left Indent or fourth Right Indent features, purchase the video!
