What are formulas in Excel 2007 and how do I create one? Think back to your Algebra class and you'll have the basics of a formula. For example, if you wanted to add up a variety of numbers you'd create a formula as such 7+10+20+30. Then we would add those numbers up and get 67, but if you type the formula in an Excel cell like =7+10+20+30 and hit Enter, then Excel would instantly calculate that formula and display the results. If you wanted to change the formula then you could double-click in that cell, to reveal the formula, and make your edits to it there and hit Enter when you're finished to view the new value from your formula!
